These columns (14) TO (19) are to be filled in only for the plots which are leased-out wholly or partly to others and, hence, not under the possession of the sample household on the date of survey. If no portion of the plot owned by the household is leased out to others, c (15) to (19) will be left blank with code '2' in c. (14). Whenever the portion of the plot owned by the household, either wholly or partly, is found to be given on lease to others, code '1' will be recorded in c (14). In all such cases, the rest of the columns will be filled in as follows:
(i) The number of households to which the whole or a part of the plot owned by the household is leased out will be recorded in c (15). In most cases, the whole or a part of the portion of plot owned by the sample household will be found to have been leased out to a single household. Entry in c(15), in all such cases, will be '1'. On the rare occasions when it is leased out to two or more households, the number of lessee households, which will be more than one, will be entered in c (15) and for each lessee household a separate line will be filled in for cols. (1) and c(16) to (19). In such cases, the serial number of the plot will be repeated in col. (1) in each extra line meant for recording particulars of leased-out land to lessee household with serial number other than 1 in c (16).
(ii) In most cases, the entry in q. (16) will be '1', since number of lessee households will rarely be more than one. But when more than one lessee households is reported against a plot, a running serial number will be assigned to each of them in q. (16).
(iii) The area of land leased-out to the lessee household corresponding to the serial number recorded in q (16) will be recorded in q. (17) in acres rounded off to two places of decimal. The type of lessee household will be recorded in q. (18) in terms of codes.
