Questions and instructions
Information on availability of drainage facility will be ascertained for the plots of the operational holding which are generally affected by water logging. It is clearly stated in the definition that natural drainage, i.e. automatic outflow of excess water from the plot by virtue of its position, will not be considered as drainage facility. If a plot, or a part of it, is affected by water-logging over a certain period of the reference agricultural season, the area of such land having drainage facility will be recorded in col. (16) and that without drainage facility in col. (17). Generally, the question of water logging may not arise in the cases of irrigated plots. However, if the irrigated plots remain water-logged over a certain period of the season, the data on availability of drainage facility may be collected for those plots also. The area figures will be recorded in acres rounded off to two places of decimal.
