Questions and instructions
Check if Q.1 is not 0 then ask this Question
Total expenditure incurred for acquiring new residential unit during last 5 years (Rs.):
if Q.1 is 0 skip this question
If the sample household did not carry out the construction itself but made full or part payment during the last 5 years for acquiring or for already acquired readymade new house / flat, the total amount paid for this purpose will be recorded in item 24. It may be noted that the 'new residential unit' means first hand purchase irrespective of the year of purchase and second hand purchase is not to be considered. If the cost of the land is paid separately, then the amount paid for the land will not be considered for recording the total expenditure. But if it cannot be separated, the total would include the cost of the land.
