The latrine facility used by most of the slum dwellers is to be noted in code against this item. In a few areas one may still come across latrines that are serviced by scavengers. These are called service latrines. A latrine connected to underground sewerage system is called flush system latrine. A latrine connected to underground septic chambers will be considered as a septic tank latrine. A latrine connected to a pit dug in the earth is a pit latrine.
