If there is an animal shed in the house or attached to the house code 1 will be recorded. If there is an animal shed within 100 feet of the house but not within / attached to it, code 2 will be recorded. The animals and / or the shed need not be owned or possessed by any household in the house. Animal shed for the purpose of this survey, is a structure where livestock (cattle, buffalo, horse, goat, pig, etc. but not poultry and pets) are sheltered.
